I like to paint, to draw and to create soft sculptures in textiles, to use photography and all sorts of non-traditional mediums. Each material holds it’s own expressive qualities; it carries a heritage and waits for a story to tell. Subjects’ matters evolve with time reflecting different aspects of my personality, following a personal history as well as interacting with the contemporary world’s enquiries. Questions raised call on the woman’s societal status, our relationship to our sexuality, to our past, to our objects.
In “how do you feel”, I question how our identity is defined by the geopolitical context we live in: how does it feel to be a covered woman at the time of war against the Muslim world?
In the unicellular paintings, I present a portrait of humanity depicting what we all share: our biological constitution. This series of “paintings” call on the watery world we all come from. Floating in it are our constitutive elementary particles, going through time unchanged.
“Tribal collection” and “mermaid trophy” explore our relationship to our objects when sanctified by the time passing: How do we project our fantasies of the past humanity through its relics?
In all, lays a comical aspect as the creator plays with his audience while inventing a fake reality.
The production of the past 10 years is here presented in a chronological but non-hierarchical order... As an Artist..
